RAJ SINGH - Chairman

Has been involved in cricket administration forever, starting as the Secretary of his village club, Eccles Sports Club and evolving to serve at every level of cricket administration. From his village club, he gravitated to the East Bank Demerara Cricket Association then to the Demerara Cricket Board and onward to the Guyana Cricket Board and to Cricket West Indies. He has now settled in as the Chairman of Cricket West Indies Masters Association. Raj has served in several positions in all these entities with distinction. His love and passion for the game is exemplary. He was very instrumental in putting together a decent team of Over 50 cricketers that hailed from different countries in the Caribbean and North America to take part in the 2020 Over 50s World Cop in Cape Town, South Africa. Over $100,000 had to be raised by the World Cup Committee to get these players to attend their first ever World Cup which, sadly, had to be aborted during the 3rd round matches. This tournament is expected to be replayed in October/November 2022 and preparations are already underway by the organizers. Raj has now accepted another role in Masters’ cricket by taking on the challenge to prepare an Over 60s West Indies World Cup team for the inaugural World Cup in Queensland, Australia- November 2022.
Raj owns and operates 2 successful insurance brokerage businesses in Florida and Guyana, namely, RISK SOLUTIONS INSURANCE BROKERAGE LLC & RAJ SINGH INSURANCE BROKERS & RISK MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS INC. He has close to 4 decades of insurance experience and is one of the most qualified insurance professionals having earned the prestigious FCII, the highest insurance qualification out of London, England; CPCU, the highest Property & Casualty insurance qualification out of the USA and is also an Associate in Risk Management. He has recently been actively engaged in a Committee appointed by the Regulator, Bank of Guyana, to prepare a model for the development of the insurance sector in the oil and gas industry in Guyana. Their activities include development of their sector’s Local Content Policy. Raj has been honored by the Guyana’s 50th Independence Anniversary Committee as one of the top 50 businesspersons in Florida. He was also honored by the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce & Industry as the Business of the Year in 2008. He has several real estate investments both in Florida and Guyana.

 
 
DAVE NARINE - Vice Chairman
Is a household name in Guyana, the Caribbean and North America. Dave migrated to New York 34 years ago to find and live the American dream. Dave Narine is the CEO and founder of Dave West Indian Imports Inc. Dave has been responsible for running all facets of the business for nearly three decades, supplying West Indian products from his homeland, Guyana, and the Caribbean at large to the US. He led the design, branding and implementation of all sales and marketing strategies to create a multimillion-dollar enterprise, opening markets in New York, then Maryland, and across the USA. His products are sold in stores like Walmart and recently Amazon. Being the child of two teachers, Dave migrated to the US in 1986, and is married with two children. His prior jobs as an accountant and customs officer prepared him well for securing his dream of establishing his own business. In the US, he realized there was a lack of enough Caribbean products which West Indian still craved after leaving their respective homelands and the idea of Dave West Indian Imports was born.
Dave is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades for his achievements in business and cricket. He has received the Maryland’s Cornerstone Award for Local Business Excellence in recognition of contributions to the state’s economy. He was also honored as one of the top 50 Guyanese businessmen in NY by the Guyana 50th Republic Awards Planning Committee. Dave was also selected as a recipient of the 2019 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award in New York. Dave Narine has also been in the forefront of sponsoring cricket in both the USA and Guyana. He has been the sole sponsor for the Guyana Cricket Board’s National Under 15 tournament for the past 6 years.


 
ROY B SINGH - Secretary

Playing Position: Opening bat (right hand) and wicket keeper.
 History: Started playing first division at 14 yrs of age, Canadian under 19 team as vice-captain and toured Denmark for the junior world cup 1981. Represented Ontario several times and played first division League cricket and representative cricket for years. Last 15 years, only played friendly cricket for Inverhaugh Cricket Club and toured extensively (20+tours). Represented both Canada (2018) and West Indies (2020) in the over 50 world cups.
 Current Business: 25 years Real Estate Broker, 30 Years as a Mortgage Broker, 10 years as a Mortgage Administrator. Executive committee member for CENTURY21 Heritage House, President of Centum Discount Mortgage Canada and President of Four Pillars Mortgage Corporation.
 Past Positions: Director of the Kitchener Waterloo Real Estate Board ((KWAR), Past President of the Ontario Mortgage Brokers Association Golden Triangle Chapter, Past Director of the Ontario Mortgage Brokers Association.  Vice President and Founder of the Mortgage Alliance Company of Canada.


                          
KENNY GIRDHARRY - Treasurer
His passion for cricket began at a very young age in his hometown of Georgetown, Guyana where he played cricket alongside former Guyana and West Indies captain Carl Hooper at the under 16 and under 19 levels. Also, he played Case Cup for Everest Sports Club and Ghandi Youth Organization before immigrating to Canada in 1986. In Toronto, Kenny continued to play premier division cricket in the Toronto & District and Scarborough Cricket leagues until 2002 but then came out of retirement in 2019 to represent the West Indies over 50 team at the 2020 World-Cup in Cape Town, South Africa. In 1996 he was a founding member of the Ontario Softball Cricket League (OSCL) which was the first recognized softball cricket body in Canada. This paved the way for the development of softball cricket within Ontario and gave rise to the formation of other leagues in the province.  In its initial years, the OSCL was the largest cricket body in Canada and the second largest in North America.  Kenny was the President for the first 17 years of the OSCL and spearheaded many tournaments, tours, youth development games, and family-oriented events. Additionally, he led the league into the digital age of technology by creating an online platform that allowed the OSCL to effectively communicate in a simplistic manner. Since the inception of the OSCL Kenny has also been the captain for his softball team, Scarborough Angels Cricketers and is one of the longest serving captains in sports. Since coming out of retirement from hardball cricket and playing for the West Indies Masters, it has revived his passion for traditional cricket.  He continues to train outside of matches and plays cricket in Toronto since he is motivated to be a part of the West Indies Masters team in the next world-cup. Kenny, is still very passionate about cricket and wants to give back to the various communities, and is highly motivated to be part of the Masters Administration in order to continue promoting cricket at every level.
Outside of his cricketing life, Kenny is the Chief Financial Officer and Partner at Spin Productions, a group of companies in the film and television industry. Spin Productions consists of; SPIN VFX: an internationally recognized leader in visual effects production with teams in Toronto and Los Angeles, SPIN VR: invented BRIO a web-based augmented / virtual reality and path tracing platform that allows users to share AR / VR experiences in real time, SPIN VFX America: another visual effects company located in Atlanta, Georgia, Rotate Virtual Productions Inc., which provides efficient shoots in camera for driving scenes, and JAXX Creative House (formerly Triangle Post) that designs, produces and delivers narratives for every platform from conception through execution. SPIN has produced many well know movies and television shows for high profile clients such as, Amazon Studios, Columbia Pictures, Disney, HBO, Netflix, Showtime, Warner Brothers, and many more. He has over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry and a solid background in the manufacturing sector.  Being a Queens’ MBA graduate, he understands the global nature of businesses, as such, recognizes that production and financial management must continuously adapt. Often called a realist with an optimistic approach, Kenny fancies himself as a part-time philosopher and loves to regale the team with his thought-provoking logic. Kenny would continue to exercise his leadership skills while apart of the Cricket West Indies Masters Association in order to promote and expand Masters cricket in the region.



RAMNARINE ORAL BEDASSIE - Assistant Secretary / Treasurer

His love for cricket developed at a tender age. He began by playing cricket with his siblings and neighbours in his area which grew into a passion that made him the President of the cricket club in his community. This fervour continued into his academic life where he represented his school in the cricket club as an opening batsman. He was able to balance his love for cricket with his professional life by representing Inland Revenue in various cricket tournaments.
Ramnarine is a chartered account who also possesses an MBA in Business Administration. Currently, he is the Commissioner of Inland Revenue and the founder of Zakera Enterprises Company Limited. In addition, he holds the position of director of Petroleum Distributors Services Limited and Penchem Distributors Services Limited. As such, his years of experience and savvy business mind are a great asset to the CWIMA Steering Committee. His expertise in finance as well as his love for the game makes him well suited for his position as Treasurer.

 

JULIAN CHARLES - Director

Cricket player profile: Past St Lucia and Windward Islands player and captain at both the under nineteen and senior levels. Former West Indies B player- former professional cricketer
Cricket Administration: Immediate past president of the St Lucia National Cricket Association, being President for ten years. Currently Vice President of the Windward Islands Cricket Board Currently Director of Cricket West Indies (CWI) - Former Chairman of CWI Cricket Committee.
Professional Profile: Banker of over thirty years’ experience, primarily in lending and risk management areas. Recently retired employee of Bank of Saint Lucia Limited. Last served in the capacity of Manager – Special Loans

ZAMIN AMIN - Director
Currently plays for American Cricket Society in the New York National Cricket League and Everest Master’s in the New York Masters League, NY Region. Played for USA in West Indies Cricket Board tournaments (Red Stripe) and in ICC tournaments in Netherlands 1990, Kenya 1994 and Malaysia in 1997. Played for the NY Region in the USA national tournaments in 2002, 2003 and 2004 also played for US team in ICC Six Nations Challenge in UAE 2004. Member of Team USA for 11 years - 1990 – 2004. Captain of Team USA for 6 years. Amin is from Guyana, East Berbice-Corentyne region, and played for the Guyana under-19s before migrating to the United States. He made his senior debut for the U.S. national team at the 1990 ICC Trophy in the Netherlands, and took 13 wickets from seven games to finish as the team's leading wicket-taker (and fifth overall). His best figures of the tournament, 4/29 from ten overs, came against Gibraltar. Amin was also the leading wicket-taker for the U.S. at the 1994 ICC Trophy, taking 11 wickets from seven matches (including 5/20 against Israel). He came close to repeating the feat at the tournament's 1997 edition.
In October 1998, Amin played for the U.S. in the 1998–99 Red Stripe Bowl, the West Indian domestic one-day competition. Amin's next major international tournament was the 2000 Americas Cricket Cup in Canada. In March 2004, he represented the U.S. in the ICC Six Nations Challenge in the United Arab Emirates. Later in the year, in May, Amin was selected to make his first-class debut, playing against Canada in the newly established ICC Intercontinental Cup. Amin was his team's equal leading wicket-taker at the 2004 ICC Americas Championship in Bermuda, with his best figures being 5/31 against Argentina. After the conclusion of the championship, the U.S. played an Intercontinental Cup fixture against Bermuda, which was Amin's last international appearance. In February 2020, he was named in the West Indies' squad for the Over-50s Cricket World Cup in South Africa. Amin resides in Long Island, New York and, professionally, is an IT Change Management BA Analyst within the Healthcare industry in New York City.

 IMTIAZ RICK ALI - Director
He i a Trinidadian who now resides in Ontario Canada. As a youth cricketer, Rick demonstrated tremendous potential representing his college as well as a select North cricket team. Unfortunately, he chose to pursue an Academic business career and which took precedence over his cricket career. His passion for the game never diminished and he resumed playing in his mid 30’s. Since then he has successfully played for several clubs in both Trinidad and Ontario as an opening and middle order batsman and part time slow right arm bowler. Rick was fortunate to be involved with the Occidental cricketers touring team to India, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka. In 2020 he was selected to represent the first West Indies team to play in the Over 50’s World Cup that was unfortunately curtailed due to covid.
As an administrator he brings his wealth of management experience being the CEO of Karik Systems a reputable IT company in Trinidad. He is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and his knowledge, experience and leadership skills will be an asset to the CWIMA, a nonprofit organization charged with the responsibility of ensuring that the West Indies is well represented in both the Over 50’s and Over 60’s World Cups.



ANTHONY MORRIS - Director

Born and resides in Barbados - A right hand batsman and right hand off break bowler that represented Cable and Wireless plus Barbados National Oil Company. Being a former division cricketer for Cable and Wireless, he had the priviledge of playing alongside Joel 'Big Bird' Garner. Currently, plays and captain his local club team in 3 of 4 divisions (Knock Outs, 2 Day and Masters) and has been captain for his club team for last 25 years. During his tenure, he has won 10 masters cups in 13 years as captain of his club. Plus he has played in over 25 cricket finals in Barbados cricket and wining 20 titles - highest score 123not out and best bolwing figure is 7/12
Additionally, Anthony has organized 14 consecutive club cricket tours to countries such as UK(3), Canada (2), Montreal(1) and the Caribbean to Trinidad / Tobago, Grenada and St. Lucia on numerous joint occasions. Also, toured Guyana with Cable and Wireless and Pioneer Cavaliers Cricket Clubs.
